What do you know?
Students are proficient in educational jargon and understand basic criteria for aligning lesson plans with state standards. Students know the basic elements of a complete lesson plan including choosing a topic, standard, lesson objectives, anticipatory set, guided instructional methods, leading independent work and how to compile and conduct formative assessments.  Students also are aware of the various learning theories including behaviorism & the cognitive learning theory.  At this stage in their education, students have adopted a learning theory that they are most comfortable utilizing in teaching practices.

What do you want to know?
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the characteristics of each of the multiple intelligences and explain how to apply these intelligences to a lesson in a classroom.  Students will know how to design a lesson plan that represents several of these intelligences, providing multiple learning opportunities for all students.

What are you trying to measure, determine or define?
With this lesson, the students will be expected to internalize the meaning of multiple intelligences and their applicability to a classroom setting.  The students ability to incorporate Multiple Intelligences into lesson planning, and the efficient use of tools associated with each intelligence will be measured.

How will you collect and record information?
Information and assessment of skill attainment will be determined through the submission of a lesson plan, applying all principles of a good lesson plan structure, and incorporating at least four of the multiple intelligences.  Students will be graded based on the rubric that was submitted with the lesson plan.  Students can earn up to 100 points on this lesson.

How will you report the information you collect?
Students will be informed of their grade via email, with feedback included in the document that they provided.  Opportunities for comments, questions and clarification will be provided at the students request, via e-mail or phone.

Are are all interested groups included in planning and conduction the needs assessment?
In this particular lesson, interested groups were the professor (myself).  I was included in the lesson planning and the structure of the lesson, so all parties were included.
