Although each of the ten articles provided insight and forethought into the subject matter I will be studying, the first few articles examined were actually the most useful. The article “Teacher Strategies for Dyslexics” was created by a district full of practicing educators in which their tried and true implementations are listed in the publication. This is a useful resource because in this district it is also handed out to parents. The second article that I will use was titled “Demystifying Math Struggles and Identifying Strategies to Help” was useful in making the connection between math and reading and linking the difficulty in one subject to the difficulty in the other.
Overall, it was an interesting process to evaluate each of these ten sources. However, my first search using the google search engine yielded more useful responses regarding real, practical applications for helping students with dyslexia. Using the search words that I used however, I did not generate a lot of information regarding the inheritance factors of this disability or ways to prevent the onset with early intervention strategies. As I further my research I will incorporate more succinct and clarifying key words to more vividly express what I was searching for.
